Philip Evans

   

Philip is a BCG Fellow and senior partner and managing director in the Boston office. He works with organizations across a broad range of industries, focusing primarily on strategy and the relationship between the changing economics of information and competitive advantage. He has cowritten the Harvard Business Review article "Strategy and the New Economics of Information," which earned the McKinsey Award, as well as the best-selling book Blown to Bits. In November 2013, he presented a TED talk on how data will transform business, which was part of a series of talks curated by TED and BCG.

Before joining the firm, Philip taught for the Foreign Ministry of Japan in Tokyo. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees Cambridge University, where he graduated with first class honors. Philip was also a Harkness Fellow in the economics department at Harvard and holds an M.B.A. with honors from Harvard Business School.
